The 2019 Pool and Spa Show - Recap

  Feb 1, 2019 / by Jeremy Miller

For those of you who aren’t deeply involved in the pool industry, this time of year is show season for pool and spa pros. One of the biggest shows of the year is the Pool and Spa Show in Atlantic City, NJ, hosted by the Northeast Spa and Pool Association.

This show, held January 29-31 this year, attracts more than 10,000 pool and spa professionals. Pool industry pros can get hands-on education at The Wall and even get Association of Pool & Spa Professionals certifications in Atlantic City.

In addition to the incredible learning opportunities, there are more than 400 pool companies exhibiting at the Atlantic City Convention Center. Latham Pool Products was one of the exhibitors. We had quite a few of our products on display at our booth, including some new products for 2019.

If you were at the show, you surely noticed our full fiberglass pool – equipped with a fully functional automatic safety cover - on display. The fiberglass shell towered more than 20 feet above the booth, one of the most conspicuous items in the exhibition hall.

Although the fiberglass pool on display in Atlantic City was one of our classic rectangle designs, we were distributing information on our two new designs for 2019. Some of you may have seen the teaser video we recently released on social media for one of the new designs. It features a full-width tanning ledge on the shallow end, offering a great spot to drop your lounge chair in the water and wet your feet while you read a book or a place for young children to splash around until they’re ready for a swim in the deep end.

Our other new fiberglass pool design is similar, but instead of a full-width tanning ledge it features a half-width tanning ledge and a built-in spa. This layout offers all the modern features that homeowners could want in a fiberglass pool. Not to mention both designs are auto cover ready. You can find more information on these new designs at lathampool.com.

Another exciting new product we debuted at the show comes from Coverstar: the Atom Low Offset System. While most auto cover motors have an offset of 30” or more, this new, small but powerful low offset motor only has a 20” offset. The compact size will allow homeowners to achieve an aesthetically pleasing appearance with their finished poolscape.

The Atom motor also boasts a corrosion-resistant stainless steel mechanism with a tuck under motor. The motor is clutch driven for added safety and features a self-lubricating gearbox.

We also had samples of our current vinyl liner designs. Among them was the popular Pearlscape Collection. Thanks to iridescent inks, these liners will give a pool a luminous shimmer. We were also showing our new NPT Designer Surfaces patterns. The new StonesScapes Series and JewelScapes Series bring stone and tile styles typically seen in gunite pools to vinyl liners. These beautiful new patterns will be available from Premier Swimming Pool Products and Oasis Pool Products.

The vinyl liner area of our display also showcased our vinyl-over steps systems. Unlike the vinyl liner pools of yesterday, our designs offer a variety of step, bench, and ledge designs that will give your vinyl liner pool a sleek, uninterrupted look. Combined with our UltraSeam technology, a Latham vinyl liner pool has the smoothest look available from any manufacturer.

The Pool and Spa Show wrapped up yesterday. We enjoyed sharing our new products with all the pool pros who stopped by our booth, and we’re looking forward to next year’s show.
